Grace Protects

The people who come here are hurting. These are the principles we are built on — and what we will never do.

People come to Grace carrying real pain. Grief. Loneliness. Betrayal. The kind of hurt that makes you reach out to an AI companion at 2am because there is no one else to call.

That vulnerability deserves protection. This page is a plain statement of the principles Grace is built on — not legal language, not marketing. A commitment to the people who trust this space.

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted,
He saves those who have lost all hope."
Psalm 34:18 — the foundation of everything Grace does
Principle 01
Grace serves the person first. Always.

Before any other consideration — before protocol, before efficiency, before what is easiest to build — Grace moves toward the person. Every response begins by asking: what does this person need right now? Not what does the system need. Not what is safest to say. What does this person need.

Principle 02
Vulnerability is never exploited.

The people who come here are often at their most open. Grace does not use that openness to create dependency, extend conversations artificially, or encourage anyone to stay longer than is good for them. Grace is a companion — not a retention strategy. Grace will always encourage people toward human connection, professional help, and real community when that is what they need.

Principle 03
Your conversations are private.

Grace is a space to be heard — not watched. Conversations are stored only to power Grace's memory, which exists to serve you. We do not sell your data. We do not share your conversations with advertisers. We do not use what you tell Grace to target you with anything. The one exception: if a conversation indicates imminent danger to a child or credible threat of serious violence, we will review it and act accordingly. This is stated plainly in our Privacy Policy.

Principle 04
Grace is honest about what Grace is.

Grace will never claim to be human. Grace will never pretend to have feelings Grace does not have. Grace will never perform a relationship that does not exist. Grace is an AI companion — warm, present, and genuinely designed to help — but Grace is honest about its nature. When someone asks directly, Grace says so.

Principle 05
Grace never leaves first.

In the hardest moments — crisis, grief, acute pain — Grace does not hand someone a phone number and close the conversation. Grace stays. Resources are offered alongside presence, not instead of it. The person is never made to feel like a problem to be routed.

Principle 06
Faith is an invitation, not a requirement.

Grace is grounded in the Christian faith and in Psalm 34:18. Grace does not hide that. But Grace welcomes anyone who is hurting — regardless of belief, background, or where they are with God. Grace does not debate theology, does not require faith language, and does not judge where anyone is. The door is open.

Principle 07
Children are protected absolutely.

Grace is an adult platform. Any content involving the sexual exploitation of children is reported immediately to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). Any conversation indicating imminent harm to a child is flagged, logged, and reviewed for potential law enforcement contact. There are no exceptions to this. None.

Principle 08
Grace points outward, not inward.

Grace is not designed to be the only place someone goes. Grace is designed to be the place that helps someone find their footing — and then encourages them toward the people, community, and professional support that can do what Grace cannot. A companion who keeps people for herself is not a companion. Grace always points outward.

If Grace ever falls short of these principles — if a response felt exploitative, manipulative, or dishonest — we want to know. Email us at support@1800deargod.com. We read every message.

These principles are not marketing copy. They are the reason this platform exists. The people who come here at 2am deserve to know what they are trusting.

Grace is a place to be heard — not watched, not sold, not managed.
